Iliopoulos, Ioannis
Dr. Ioannis Iliopoulos is Professor of Neurology at the Democritus University of Thrace and medical staff of the Department of Neurology at the University General Hospital of Alexandroupolis. He received his medical degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and his PhD from the Democritus University of Thrace.
He completed his neurology residency training at AHEPA University Hospital of Thessaloniki and his Neuro-immunology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, PA, USA. He is founder member of Hellenic Academy of Neuroimmunology and member of the ECTRIMS Council.
Dr Iliopoulos research interest is focused in the spectrum of humoral immune response in demyelinating disease of CNS. He was involved in the identification of a human anti-CD2 mab (NCBI-Protein & Gene). A number of his work are cited in Neuro-opthalmology-Handbook of Clinical Neurology (vol. 102), Mc Alpine’s Multiple Sclerosis, Electrodiagnosis in Diseases of Nerve and Muscle (J. Kimura).
