Ioannidis, Panagiotis
Panagiotis Ioannidis graduated from Medical School at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.TH.) in 1992, obtained his residency in Neurology in 2001 and his specialisation in dementia at the Dementia research group, National Hospital for Neurology, University College London in 2002. He received his PhD from A.U.TH. in 2006 and his dissertation was entitled “ Researching the APOE genotype relationship with the higher cortical functions in patients with multiple sclerosis”.
He has practiced medicine during his military service from 1993 to 1995 and at the Medical Center at Strimmoniko, Serres from 1995 to 1996. He then moved to Pathology at Agios Savvas Hospital in Athens in 1996 , Internal Medicine in 1996 and Psychiatry, B’ Acute Psychiatry in 1997 at the Psychiatric Hospital in Thessaloniki . He subsequently moved to Neurology at the B’ Dept of Neurology, AHEPA University Hospital from 1998 to 2001. He then became a Research Fellow of the London Dementia Research Group, National Hospital for Neurology, University College London from 2001 to 2002 and of the B’ Dept of Neurology, AHEPA University Hospital from 2003 to 2007 responsible for the Outpatient Dementia and relevant disorders clinic and for the student internship programme of the Psychology students of the A.U.T.H.
He is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Medical School of A.U.TH. B’ Dept of Neurology, AHEPA University Hospital since 2014. He is also a member of the Thessaloniki Medical Association since 1993, of the American Academy of Neurology since 2000 and of the British Medical Association since 2001.
